The need for two different materials - one for the container and another for the cage - increases manufacturing costs, potentially offsetting the economic benefits of the shape change.
Like drums, IBC totes also present a cleaning challenge. In fact, their design may make them even more difficult to clean than drums.
In Conclusion: While both drum closures and IBC totes have their pros and cons, it’s clear that bulk container systems are currently the optimal choice for transportation, storage, and distribution.
